In the introductory, Shakespeare gave away the ending by telling us the tragic death of Romeo and Juliet. He did this to show us that the ending is not important, but all the actions in between. Shakespeare presents the two families who has been rivals for many years which are the Montague's and the Capulet's. Each side only had one child, and they are Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague.

At the beginning of Act 1, Romeo was unhappy due to his one sided love for a girl called Roseline. However, his best friend Benvolio told him that he is not in love but just blinded by her beauty. That night, the Capulet's held a mask party for Juliet as an opportunity for her to meet Paris. Therefore, Benvolio and Mercutio took Romeo to his families rivals party promising him that he will meet a beautiful lady. There Romeo meet Juliet and they fell in love instantly. Shockingly, Romeo finds out that Juliet is a Capulet.

The whole story took place in only four short days. This shows how fast young love could change and how fast ones can fall in love and be blinded by love.
