In Act 5, Friar Laurence sends the letter to Romeo. However, he was later imformed by Friar John that his letter was not send to Romeo. Meanwhile, Balthasar who is Romeo's servant is on his way to Mantua to pass on the news that dear Juliet have passed away. Romeo who heard the news now felt that there is not meaning to his life with Juliet dead, so he goes to a man asking him to give him poison so he can take his own life.

When Romeo gets to the tomb, Paris is protectively waiting outside of the tomb. When he sees Romeo comming, he attacks  him and gets himself killed during the combat. Romeo soon enters the tomb and finds the lifless Juliet, he kneels beside her and with one last kiss he dranks the poison. Moments later, Juliet wakes up and finds the dead Romeo. She sees the empty poison bottle and complains that he didn't even save one last drop for her. She tries to seek her own death by kissing him while hopping that the poison will rub of onto her. Without any success, she takes Romeo's dagger and stabs herself.

With the two lovers dead, both families realizes their stupidity and selfishness. They then made up to each other by promising that they will built a statue of the opposite family's child.

This ending shows how ones anger towards each other can lead to many unfortunate events and the sacrifices of many people. Just like how Romeo and Juliet's love is a sacrifice to the friendship of the two families.
